Charity shop manager quashes rumours it is set to close

10:50am Tuesday 7th February 2012

THE manager of a High Street charity shop says she wants to quash rumours the shop will be closing.

The YMCA charity opened the shop at the former McDonald’s store in High Street, in 2008.

Last week the Advertiser reported how the charity is set to move into the former Lush furniture store, at the Bromsgrove Retail Park, in Birmingham Road.

The manager of the charity’s High Street store said after hearing the news, a number of people had spoken to staff in the High Street shop, asking when it would be closing.

Manager Francis Carter said: “We wish to point out this shop is still open, while the Bromsgrove Retail Park shop will become an additional store.”

She added the charity continues to welcome donations for both shops. For more details call on 01527 835195, or visit the High Street shop.
